Test Valley Visitor Guide

The Test Valley is a picturesque area of Hampshire with many unique attractions and picturesque market towns. The Marketing Collective was approached by Test Valley Borough Council in 2014 to develop and produce their popular visitor guide and has been producing the guide ever since.

The Aim

To develop and expand the guide into an A4 lifestyle-based visitor guide similar to our other successful publications such as the Hamble Valley Visitor Guide.

Test Valley Borough Council wanted a fresh new look and feel to their publication along with an increased print run with more targeted distribution. The design of the Test Valley Visitor Guide was managed in-house with The Marketing Collective providing art working, advert proofing and design support.

Our Objective

To deliver a targeted sales campaign to the accommodation, hospitality and attraction venues within the Test Valley with a focus on developing editorial features.

To write the editorial features and general copy within the guide, developing new themes and engaging copy about the Test Valley to encourage visits.

To project manage the advertising sales campaign, copywriting, design, print and distribution of the visitor guide. Ensuring that the whole visitor guide production is delivered within timescales and budget.

To design supporting pop-up banners for the launch of the 2014 Test Valley Visitor Guide at a Group Travel Trade show.

Our Approach

The Marketing Collective produced an attractive media pack to promote the new advertising packages available. Via telesales and sales visits to venues and towns, Β we promoted the new A4 lifestyle magazine and worked with advertising on generating editorial based features.

We engaged with new businesses who had not booked advertising within the guide before and generated new copy features.

The print run of the visitor guide was increased from 20,000 to 25,000 to ensure that the publication was more widely available for the target audience.
